I have had pets all my life; I became fond of them over the years and they played an important role in my teenage years. Especially DOGS! I they understand people easily; they are like our buddies that make us laugh when we are sad and that hangout with us when we are bored to death. Over the years I had a dog named Sacapus… and he is not only a dog but family. You can imagine my discomfort when I found out about the YULIN ANNUAL FESTIVAL. I value tradition but I say NO the YULI ANNUAL FESTIVAL.
This festival is a yearly tradition in Yulin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region of China, this festival entails the mass torture, slaughter, and consumption of about 10,000 dogs. Yes your read that right… about 10,000 dogs. These dogs are captured, seized from their masters, caged, boiled or burnt alive, cooked and eaten. How can a pet be treated with so much inhumanity? To crown it up this year’s festival will be held on the 21st of June even with petitions and denunciations done worldwide. Let’s all say no to animal cruelty and put an end to the YULIN ANNUAL FESTIVAL
